Hyderabad was a Princely State during the British rule in India, it is located in the South-Central region of India. It was ruled by Nizam of Hyderabad from 1724 till 1948 CE. The region had also become a part of the Mughal Empire in 1680.Hyderabad was founded by Mir Qamar-ud-din Khan, a governor of Deccan under the Mughal Empire from 1713 till 1721AD. In the year 1724, he became free from Mughal administration and founded Asaf Jahi dynasty. He took the title Asaf Jha and his other title Nizam-ul-Mulk became the title of his position Nizam of Hyderabad.
This gold Asharfi which weighs around 11.18g was issued by Mir Mahbub Ali Khan II during the Hijri Year 1329 during the 44th year of his reign. This gold mohur was sold for INR 1,50,000 in the upcoming auction Todywalla held in Ahmadabad on 9th February 2019.
