First Republic Day Stamp of Kazakhstan
2019-02-12 Tue
Kazakhstan issued a stamp on 25th October 1994 commemorating the republic day of the country.Beginning in the early 18th century, Kazakh-controlled territories were being colonized by tsarist Russia. Over the next 150 years, the various regions signed treaties of protection with the Russian empire. In 1920, the area of present-day Kazakhstan became an autonomous republic within Russia and, in 1936, a Soviet republic.
However, in the 1980s, unrest continued to grow, resulting in large protests and demonstrations. Kazakhstan declared its sovereignty as a republic within the U.S.S.R. in October 1990. Kazakhstan declared independence on December 16, 1991. A couple of years later on 25th October 1994, Kazakhstan was declared a Republican Nation.
To commemorate this day a special stamp with the denomination of 2 Kazakhstani tenge depicting the National Arms of Kazkhstan. Adopted on June 4, 1992, the coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan depicts an image of shanyrak.
The coat of Arms shows the upper dome-like portion of a yurt, against an irradiating sky blue background with the support of wings of mythical horses. The circle shape of the Emblem is a symbol of life and eternity. The shanyrak symbolizes the well-being of family, peace, and calm.
The stamp depicts the National emblem in the centre with a grayish silver background along with the name of the country and an inscription at top and bottom in Kazakhi Language.
