Panna belonged to the Bundelkhand Political Agency. The Panna chiefs were Bundela Rajputs from the Orchha family. Presently, it is located in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh.Rulers of Panna issued silver and copper coins in the denomination of Rupee and Paisa. These coins of Panna Princely State struck from Chhatarpur and Panna mints. They were issued in the name of Shah Alam II and represent the Lord Hanuman Running to Right.
The coin shown in the image is one example of the coinage of Panna State. This coin bears the Persian legend and interesting symbols on its obverse. The reverse of a coin depicts the legend ‘Sanah 35 Julus Mainamat Manus’.
