New Coins Commemorate Spring Festival of China

China issued a special silver 3-yuan coin to mark the 15-day celebrations that begin at the onset of the Chinese New Year. The Year of Pig begins on 5th February 2019, and China has been releasing such type of coins for the last three years. It’s different from the other set of coins that celebrate all Lunar Zodiac animals. The Chinese New Year is a holiday season or Spring Festival, filled with happiness and enthusiasm where people exchange gifts and take part in celebrations.The obverse side of this Brilliant Uncirculated .999 fine silver coin depicts the National Emblem of China - Tiananmen Gate of the Forbidden City, under five stars. The biggest star symbolises the ruling Communist Party and the remaining ones represent other classes of Maoism. Other inscriptions include “People’s Republic of China”, and year of issue, 2019. The reverse side depicts Chinese character fu, windows of Chinese lattice designs, corn, red peppers, and the denomination. The 8 grams coin has a diameter of 25 millimetres and a mintage limit of 2.7 million pieces. Each coin comes in a colourful folder along with an official certificate of authenticity.
