50th Anniversary of Canadian Flag on 2015 Coin

The 50th anniversary of the Canadian Flag was celebrated on 15th February, 2015. The Royal Canadian Mint issued a special commemorative coin to mark this prestigious event. The coin was unveiled at a special Flag Day ceremony in Confederation Park in Ottawa. Only 15,000 coins are available and they are made of 99.99% pure silver.The reverse features the bright red and white coloured flag of Canada within the nation’s map. Other inscriptions include ‘CANADA’, ‘1965-2015’ and ‘3 DOLLARS’.
The obverse bears an effigy of the Queen along with inscriptions of ‘ELIZABETH II’ and ‘DG REGINA’.
