Silver Nazarana Rupee of Ranbir Singh of Jind State

Jind was a Princely State during the British Raj. It was founded by Raja Gajpat Singh in 1763.<
The rulers belong to Phulkian dynasty. Earlier, it was ruled by Schindia dynasty of the Maratha Empire and paid tribute to the Marathas. In Second Anglo Maratha War, Marathas were defeated and so Jind state became British protectorate.
Ranbir Singh was Maharaja of Jind state from1887 AD to 1948. During the reign he issued silver Nazarana Rupee and Rupee with beautiful Persian legend inscribed on its obverse and reverse face.
Represent above Silver Nazarana Rupee was issued by Ranbir Singh in 50th Anniversary of reign. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Mahi Tab Mah Sikka Zad Bar Seem Wa Zar Az Auj Hokum shud az Qadir Bichoon Beh Ahmad Badshah’. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Julus Samat 1993 Golden Jubilee Sarkar Jind Samat 1943’. This coin was issued to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Ranbir Singh reign.
