In the year 2009; the United States of America had issued four different pennies to recognize the bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth and the centennial of the first year of the Lincoln cent.Kentucky is a place where Abraham Lincoln was born and had lived in his early childhood. Abraham Lincoln was born on 12th February 1809 at Sinking Spring site south of Hodgenville and remains there until his family moved to Knob Creek Farm northeast of Hodgenville when he was 2 years old.
The United States of America had issued this One-Cent Commemorative Coin to Commemorate Birth and Early Childhood of Abraham Lincoln. The obverse of this coin depicts the portrait of Abraham Lincoln facing towards right and reverse of the coin depicts a log cabin that represents Lincoln's humble beginnings in Kentucky.
