New coin to mark the 75th anniversary of Tricolour hoisting by Netaji

The Government of India last year announced that a Rs 75 commemorative coin will be issued to commemorate the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the hoisting of Tricolour for the first time by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Port Blair.Subhas Chandra Bose hoisted the Tricolour on 30th December in 1943 for the first time at Cellular Jail, Port Blair. He named the Andaman Island as Shaheed and Nicobar Island as Swaraj. Azad Hind government was not merely a government in exile anymore but had its own land, currency, civil code, and stamps. By hoisting the Azad Hind flag, Bose also fulfilled his promise that INA would stand on the Indian soil by the end of 1943.
The news of newly issued coin was also notified by the Ministry of Finance, it is a 35-gram commemorative coin. It metal consist 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper, and 5 percent each of nickel and zinc. The obverse of this coin will illustrate the portrait of ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’ saluting the flag on the background of the cellular jail and numeral ‘75th’ is seen below the portrait. The inscription 'First Flag Hoisting Day' is both depicted in English and Devanagari scripts.
The reverse of this coin will depict National emblem in the center with denomination value below it. The inscription India and Bharat are inscribed in Devanagari and English script.
