The United States of America had issued this Olympic High Jump Silver Dollar in the year 1996 to honour the sport. High Jump is always been an Olympic Sport and it was a part of 1996 Centennial Olympics Games which was held in Atlanta, Georgia.The U.S. Mint issued a silver dollar in proof and uncirculated conditions. This coin depicts the position of an athlete during Fosbury Flop. The Fosbury Flop is a style used by an athlete during high Jump. This technique was a technique introduced by Dick Fosbury at the 1968 Olympic Games.
The obverse of this coin depicts an athlete doing the Fosbury Flop high jump technique. The reverse of the coin has an inscription ‘Atlanta 1996 CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC GAMES’ to the right side of the coin and the design of a torch and flame to the right side of the coin.
