The Princely State of Rewa is located in the heart of India, today in Madhya Pradesh. This state was founded in 1140 AD and came under British protection in 1812 AD. The royal house of Rewa belongs to the Baghela clan of the Solanki Rajputs.Raghuraj Singh ruled the Rewa State from1843 to 1880 AD. During the reign he issued copper coins in the denomination of Paisa and 2 Paisa from Rewa mint.
Represented above 6.65g copper Paisa of Raghuraj Singh was issued in VS 1910. The obverse of a coin illustrate the Lion facing left while reverse bore the legend ‘Agent Bushby Saheb’ in roman script.
