Kyrgyzstan Completes 4th Series of Banknotes
2018-12-24 Mon
Kyrgyzstan released two new modified banknotes in the country’s 4th series of banknotes on 20th December 2018. One of the banknotes bears the denomination 20 soms while the other one is worth 5,000 soms. The updated versions complete Kyrgyzstan’s 4th series of notes. The new notes feature a well-defined portrait produced using the classical method with mask element. When you hold the 5,000 soms note against a light source, the word «som» appears. The year of issue mentioned on the note is 2016.
The newly released banknotes will be circulated along with the older versions as they are legal tender within the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Citizens have been asked to accept all notes as a means of payment, even though the year of issue is different.
