Rutherford B. Hayes Commemorative Coin

Rutherford B. Hayes was born on 4th October 1822; at Delaware, Ohio. His father died before two months of he was born. He was raised by his mother and by his uncle. Rutherford was a gifted child. He had completed his graduation from Kenyan College in the year 1842. After his graduation, he decided to pursue his career in law and he enrolled himself in Harvard Law School and became a lawyer in the year 1845. Later he opened his law practice in Cincinnati, Ohio and became a successful lawyer. He had also established a successful legal practice in Cincinnati where he had worked defending slaved that had escaped from Kentucky and had come across the border to Ohio.Rutherford B. Hayes had served his country as 19th President of United States. He is well known for bringing the post-civil reconstruction to an end in the south and for the establishment of the new standard of official integrity after eight years of corruption in Washington, D.C. He was the only president in the United States to hold office by decision of an extraordinary commission of congressmen and Supreme Court justices appointed to rule on contested electoral ballots.
The United States of America had issued his commemorative coin with his portrait on the obverse side of the coin.
