Calvin Coolidge was born on 4th July 1872 in Plymouth, Vermont. He had served his country as 30th President of United States from 1923 and served until 1929. He is well known for his quiet demeanour, for which he had earned his nickname ‘Silent Cal’. He became the president of United States on 3rd August 1923, after the sudden death of President Warren G. Harding.Calvin Coolidge started his political carrier in the year 1898; when he was elected to Northampton, Massachusetts, city council. In the year 1918; he was elected as governor of Massachusetts. Coolidge was a fiscally conservative Republican, he used to believe that size and scope of federal government should be limited. He was one of very few US president who had left office with the deferral debt and budget deficit that was smaller than when he entered the office.
The United States of America had issued this one dollar commemorative coin with his portrait on the obverse side of the coin.
