Armenia Dedicates a Stamp to Spitak Earthquake

HayPost (Post of Armenia) released a special stamp in the remembrance of the Earthquake of Spitak that took place 30 years ago.The stamp was issued on 7th December 2018 to as a tribute to the 30th Anniversary of this tragic event. On 7th December 1988, a 6.9 caliber earthquake devastated Armenia. Also known as Spitak earthquake, the calamity turned out to be a catastrophe.
Designed by Vaghan Mkrtchyan, this stamp comes with the denomination of 230 Armenian drams. The stamp depicts a collage of the devastating scenes of the earthquake. The scenes include demolished buildings, rescue workers and the clock of Independence Square of Gyumri.
The stamp is a commemoration to the courage and resilience showed by the country.
