Ashok Kumar the legendary film actor of Indian cinema breathed his last on 10th December 1911. Fondly known as Dadamoni, he ruled millions of hearts with his charismatic screen appearance. He was one of the most versatile and iconic actors of all times.Ashok Kumar’s introduction to films was purely an accident. He got the lead role in Jeevan Naiya (1936), a Bombay Talkies production. Later, he also appeared in numerous legendary films of Bollywood such as Chal Chal Re Naujawan, Shikari, Sajan, Mahal, Mashaal, Sangram and Samadhi.
He is best known for his incredible performance in films like Rakhi and Aashirwaad, for which he won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for his outstanding performance.
He made his last appearance in the 1997 film ‘Aankho Mai Tum Ho’. Ashok Kumar honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1988. In 1999, he was also honored with the third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan by the Government of India and
