The Mughals hardly require any introduction; it is perhaps the most famous dynasty in Indian history; it hardly requires any introduction. It is one of the largest empires to rule over the Indian subcontinent during the medieval period. The period of the Mughals is known as the golden era which starts with the victory of Babur over Ibrahim Lodi in the First Battle of Panipat, up till its decline with the death of Aurangzeb in the year 1707.This silver rupee was issued by Mughal ruler Kam Bakhsh. Muhammad Kam Bakhash was the youngest son of Emperor Aurangzeb. He ruled the Mughal Empire for a very short period from 1107 CE till 1708 CE. As he has ruled for a very short period of time, coins minted by him are extremely rare.
This silver was issued by him during the second year of his reign in the Hijir year 1120, from the mint Dar-ul-Jihad Hyderabad. This silver rupee was sold for INR 1,00,000 in an auction of Todywalla which was held in Mumbai on 24th November 2018.
