Gujarat Sultanate was a late medieval kingdom established in the early 15th Century. It was established by Zafar Khan (son of Sadharan, a Tanka Rajput) in the year 1396. He was appointed as a Governor of Gujarat by Nasir-ud-din Muhammad Bin Tughluq IV in the year 1391 AD.Shams Al-Din Muzaffar Shah II ruled Gujarat Sultanate from 1511 CE to 1525 CE. He succeeded Nasir Al-Din Mahmud I.
One of the main reforms during his reign was the introduction of 64 rati standards for silver issues which weigh around 7.0-7.2 grams. He has issued coins in gold, silver, and copper.
This rare gold tanka issued by him during the hijri year 925 weighs around 11.4g is listed for INR 55,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Mumbai on 24th November 2018.
