Gupta coin sold for more than INR 50,000

Imperial has commenced an online auction on last Saturday, its lot consist quit fascinating specimens. One of most spectacular sell of this lot was gold dinar issued during king Skandagupta reign. It was offered for the INR 50,000 to 60,000.The obverse of this coin depicts king in the standing position faced turned left holding an arrow in right hand and bow in left with Garuda illustrated in left and Brahmi legend inscribed below the arm, which reads ‘Skanda’.
The reverse of this coin depicts a Lakshmi seated on a lotus facing straight while holding diadem and lotus. A tamgha is illustrated on left with Brahmi legend on right, it reads ‘karmaditya’. It’s a very fine and scare coin.
