Top Asian Numismatic Beauties to be offered at Heritage’s Hong Kong Auction

Heritage Auctions is going to offer several interesting coins during the Hong Kong Auction of World Coins on 6th and 7th December at the Mira Hotel, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Some of the highlights include three coins from the Kuang-hsu era in Mint State condition. One was issued in 1906 while the other two are examples of 1907 gold Pattern Liang.A Szechuan Provincial Kuang-hsu 50 Cent piece ND (1901-1908), graded PCGS MS62 will also be offered. It belonged to the collections of reputed numismatists like Eduard Kann and Irving Goodman. A rare gold Yuan Shih-kai 20 Dollars Year 8 (1919) graded NGC MS63 will also be offered. This example is the second-best with respect to grading. A unique gold 1995 Proof “Ancient Dragon Boat” 500 Yuan, graded PR69 Ultra Cameo without an edge number, a rare Kansu Provincial Sun Yat-sen Dollar Year 17 (1928) and a Hsuan-T’ung silver Specimen Pattern Dollar Year 3 (1911), graded PCGS SP62+ are other star coins to be offered at the auction.
Other World Coins to be offered include a Japanese Meiji Era Year 39 (1906) aluminium Pattern Sen, the 1853 “Lotus Dollar” from Taiwan, Tibetan and Nepalese coins. Beautiful ancient coins in great conditions such as an Athens tetradrachm graded MS STAR, a tetradrachm of Alexander the Great graded Choice AU STAR, the Caligula and Agrippina Senior denarius, and a gold octodrachm of Ptolemy III, graded Choice AU are also up for sale.
