Murad Bakhsh's Silver Rupee

Murad Bakhsh was a mughal ruler, he was born to Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal in the year 1624 CE. He was the youngest among all his siblings; being the youngest made him a favourite of his elder siblings. He was appointed as Subedar of Multan in the year 1642 CE. Later he also became the subedar of Balkh until he was replaced by his elder brother Aurangzeb in the year 1647. In the year 1657, Murad Bakhsh declared himself as the Emperor at Ahmadabad.This silver rupee issued by Murad Bakhsh from the mint Surat; was sold for INR 20,000 in an auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery held on 21st January 2017.
