Ulysses S. Grant Commemorative Coin

The original name of Ulysses S. Grant was Hiram Ulysses Grant; he was born on 27th April 1822. He is best known as the Union general who led the United States to victory over the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. He had served his country as 18th President of United States of America. Before being the president of United States he had also served his country as U.S. general and commander of the Union armies during the late years of the American Civil War. After the war, he became a national hero, and the Republicans nominated him for president in 1868.The United States of America had issued this One Dollar Commemorative coin in the year 2011 with his portrait on the obverse side of the coin.
