NHRC Silver Jubilee Postage Stamps

The National Human Rights Commission was founded on 12th October 1993. The 25th anniversary of this organisation was celebrated last week. The three-day silver Jubilee celebrations were attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh.A commemorative postage stamp and a special cover were launched during the event by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A new version of the NHRC website with user-friendly features was also launched. The website can now be accessed by persons with special needs. A ‘Human Rights Mela’ and ‘Human Rights Street Theatre Festival’ was organised on 13th October while a Human Rights Walk was organised on 14th October to create more awareness about different aspects of human rights.
