Remembering Sri Vishwanatha Satyanarayana

Emperor of Poets, Sri Viswanatha Satyanarayana breathed his last on today 18 October 1976. He was born into a traditional Hindu family on 10th September 1895 in a small village of Andhra Pradesh. Viswanathan was a trained scholar in numerous subjects. He was a strong adherent of Advaita, though his learning and mastery extends to several other schools.Vishwanatha has a mastery over Sanskrit, Telugu and English. His work included poetry, novels, drama, short stories and speeches covering a wide range of subjects.
His most distinguished works are Srimad Ramayana Kalpvruksham and Veyi Pradagalu translated from Telugu to Hindi by the Former Prime Minister Sri P V Narasimha Rao as Sahasra Phani.
Vishwanatha awarded with the Jnanpith and Padma Bhushan Award by Government of India. India Post has issued commemorative Postage Stamp to honour him.
