Thomas Jefferson was born on 13th April 1743; at Shadwell, a plantation on a large tract of land near present-day Charlottesville, Virginia. He was the son of Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph Jefferson.Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence, the third U.S President of the United States, a political Philosopher and one of the most influential founders of the United States. During the American Revolutionary War in 1775-83 Jefferson served in the Virginia legislature and the Continental Congress and was governor of Virginia.
The United States had issued this 5 Cents Copper-Nickel Commemorative coin in the year 2006. The obverse of his coin depicts bust of Thomas Jefferson with the inscription ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’, ‘LIBERTY’ (written in cursive, it is based on Jefferson’s handwriting) with the year 2018. The reverse of the coin had the representation of Monticello, its President Thomas Jefferson's Virginia home; with the inscription ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ at the top and the inscription ‘MONTICELLO’ below the Virginia home; the inscription ‘FIVE CENTS’ AND ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ written at the bottom.
