Qutb al-Din Bahadur Shah also known as Bahadur Khan was a Sultan of Gujarat Sultanate from 1526 to 1535 AD. He ascended the throne after competing with his brothers. He expands his kingdom and made expedition to help neighboring kingdoms.Bahadur Shah issued gold, silver, copper, and billon coins during the reign. These coins were issued in different denominations viz. tanka, half tanka, one third tanka, quarter tanka, one sixth tanka, Falus, half falus, double falus, quarter falus. Heavy tanka weighs around 12.4g, and normal tanka weighs around 8.4 gm.
Depicted above silver one third tanka of Bahadur Shah is listed at INR 2500 to 3000 at Classical Numismatic Gallery. The obverse of a coin bore the legend ‘Bahadur Shah’ while reverse of a coin inscribed with ‘As Sultan’ with Hijri year.
