Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Gold Mohur Sold For INR 47,000

This gold mohur issued by Mughal Aurangzeb during the 50th year of his reign during the Hijri Year 1117 was sold for INR 47,000 in an auction held by Todywalla on 1st September 2018.This gold mohur was Itawa and weighs around 11.5g. i. There are two types of couplets with are found on his coins, ‘Mihir-e-Munir couplet' and ‘Badr-e-Munir couplet'; These couplets came into the use at different dates at different mints.
The obverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Sikka Zad Dar Jahan Chu Mihr-e-Munir Badshah Aurangzeb Alamgir with AH 1117’ and the reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Julus Maimanat Manus sanah 50 Zarb Itawa.
