William Shakespeare is always considered as one of the most lovable writers in the world. He has written almost 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses. All his plays are been translated into many languages and are also performed. He is best known for his masterpieces such as Hamlet, Othello, and Romeo & Juliet.To remember this great writer Cook Island had issued the 5 dollars proof gold commemorative coin on his 400th death anniversary. The obverse of this coin depicts the picture of Shakespeare with the inscription ‘WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE’ around and date 1616-2016 at the bottom. The reverse of the coin depicts the portrait of ‘Queen Elizabeth II’ at the center and the inscription ‘ELIZABETH II COOK ISLAND’ and 5 DOLLARS at the bottom.
