Third and Final Note from BEP’s 2018 Intaglio Print Program

On 14th August, BEP released the last issue of its 2018 Intaglio Print Program at the ANA World’s Fair of Money in Philadelphia to complete the World War I 100th Anniversary Commemorative Collection.An agreement made between the Allied forces and Germany on 11th November 1918 led to the end of World War I. The latest release by BEP named “Victory”, celebrates this occasion.
The reverse design of the series 1918 $1 Federal Reserve Bank note depicts a flying bald eagle holding Stars and Stripes. The vignette of President Woodrow Wilson is also depicted. The same vignette was used on Series 1934 $100,000 gold certificates that were never publically released.
The earlier two releases from the set called “Entry” and “Homefront” were released in January and March respectively. These issues are still available for sale.
The World War I Commemorative $2 Collection features Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Atlanta’s Series 2013 $2 notes with similar serial numbers starting with 2018, and a commemorative engraved print of Series 1918 $2 Federal Reserve Bank Note’s reverse design featuring New York battleship.
