Indian is always considered as the land of Spirituality. It has been a land was the greatest gurus and saints took birth like, Kabir, Guru Nanak, Sai Baba, Saint Dhyaneshwar etc. They have given people the way of Spirituality and peace.Saint Dnyaneshwar was one of the greatest saints of Maharashtra during the 13th Century. He is also known as Dnyandev or Mauli. He is well known for his book ‘Dnyaneshwari’ and ‘Amrutanubhav’ which are considered to be as milestones in Marathi literature. The devotional composition composed by Dynashewar were called as ‘Abhangas’, this is believed to be formulated during his pilgrimage to Pandharpur or other holy places when he got initiated into the Varkari tradition.
The Indian government had issued 1 Rupee commemorative coin in the year 1999 to remember the work he had done. Rupee 100 proof and the uncirculated specimen were also issued with the same theme.
