20-mark brown stamp of King Ludwig III

The rare Saar 1920 20-mark stamp of King Ludwig III is auctioned by Christophe Gaertner Auctions. The auction will be held on 1st September seemly tomorrow; this auction will hold many rarities from all over the world for the enthusiastic collectors. This rare stamp is offered for 290,812 dollars.The king who is depicted on the stamp was the last king of Bavaria, reigning from 1913 to 1918. On this stamp, the overprint ‘SARR’ is printed which obliterate the Bayern name. Later on, as the delivery for Munich was suspended only sixteen specimens were overprint and today only fifteen known are known in the Philatelic world.
