Copper Dinglo of Princely State Bhaunagar

Bhaunagar was a Princely State during the British rule in India. The state was founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil in the year 1723. The Gohil were the Rajputs of Suryavanshi clan, In the year 1260 CE, they moved to the coastal areas of Gujarat where they established three capitals Sejakpur Umrala and Sihor.Maharaja Bhavsinhji Gohil establishes his capital at Sihor, Sihor was a place which was invaded by many rulers. Khanthaji Kadani and Pilaji Gaekwad also make an attempted to conquer Sihor, but got failed. Later Maharaja Bhavsinhji realised the place Sihor is a reason for the foreign invaders so he decided to establish a new capital which was about twenty kilometers away from Sihor and near Vadva village which was named Bhaunagar after his name.
In the year 1948, after the independence of India, the state got merged with the Union of India.
This Dhinglo was issued form Princely State Bhaunagar in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan III.
