Fath Shah’s Gold Tanka Estimated For INR 2,00,000

This gold tanka was issued by the Kashmir Sultan Fath Shah. Fath Shah ruled Kashmir for three different periods. His first reign begins from (1487 CE-1499 CE), His second reign dated from (1505 CE-1514 CE) and third reign dated from (1515 CE-1517 CE).This gold tanka issued by him weighs around 11.2g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘“Kibr-i-Mamlakat Kih Muhr (mihr)-i-Daulut Ast, Sikkah-i-fath shah sultan in Kashmir ast” meaning “the glory of the kingdom, which is the mohur (sun) of the state, is the coin of Fath Shah of Kashmir”. And the reverse of the coin reads”la ilaha ill Allah Muhammad Rasulullah” in the centre within the circle and name of the mint and date in the margin.
This gold tanka is listed for INR 2,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla, which will be held in Mumbai on 1st September 2018.
