Allegory of Flight Stamps of Lithuania

‘Allegory of Flight’ Stamps of Lithuania refer to the 2nd issue of Airmail stamps issued by Lithuania Post.Pictorial Lithuania stamps, for postage on airmail letters, were first issued in June 1921. Five months later, a set of seven allegorical Lithuania commemorative airmail stamps were issued to celebrate the Inauguration of Airmail Service in Lithuania on June 25 of that year.
The stamps feature back profile of the Victory with wings launching an airplane. This is a symbolic representation of the flight of airmail and its success. The stamps are inscribed "ORO PASTO ISTEIGIMAS" or "AIRMAIL ESTABLISHMENT" on the either side of the portrait.
The stamps were issued the denominations ranging from 20 skatiky which is the lowest value and 5auksinas which is the highest value. The name of the country i.e. “LIETUVA” is at the bottom and the year of issue is at the top on the right corner below the plane.
