Sikandar Shah Suri was the 6th ruler of Sur or Suri Dynasty. Suri Dynasty was one of the most powerful dynasties during the medieval period in Indian; it was founded by Sher Shah Suri.The real name of Sikandar Shah Suri was Ahmad Khan Suri, he took the name Sikandar Shah Suri after sitting on the throne. Sikandar Shah Suri sat on the Mughal throne after the overthrowing Ibrahim Shah Suri.
Coins issued by Sikandar Shah Suri are rare. Sikandar Shah Suri issued coin in silver, billon and copper. In Copper, he issued the denomination like Paisa, one-eighth Paisa, and one-tenth Paisa. Coins issued by Sikandar Shah Suri are rare. Most of the copper coins issued by him are mintless.
This mintless copper coins which were issued by him during Hijri year 962. The obverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Al-Mutawakkil Ala Allah Sikandar Shahi Sultan Shahi’. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Fi-Ahad Amir Al-Muminin Khallada Khilafatahu’.
