Jahandar Shah’s Copper Paisa Sold For INR 10,000

Jahandar Shah ruled the Mughal Empire from 1712 CE until 1713 CE. He sat on the Mughal throne after the death of his father Bahadur Shah in the year 1712 CE. After the death of Bahadur Shah all his four his namely Jahandar Shah, Azim-ush-Shan, Rafi-ush-Shan and Jahan Shah fought against each other for Mughal throne. Finally, it was Jahandar Shah who succeeded to seat on the Mughal throne with the help of Zulfiqar Khan. In the year 1713, he was defeated by Farrukhsiyar, the second son of Azim-ush-shan in the battle at Agra with the help of Sayyid brother.This copper paisa which was issued by Jahandar Shah from the mint Dar-ul-Aman Kabul during the First year of his reign was sold for INR 10,000 at Oswal Auction. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of the king and revere of the coin is inscribed with the mint name.
