Silver Rupee of Dar-ul-Khair Ajmer mint

Ahmad Shah Bahadur was the ruler of Mughal Empire for a time between 1748 to 1754 CE, immediately after the death of his father Muhammad Shah.When Ahmed Shah came to power, the rule of the Mughal Empire was collapsing. He ruled the Mughal Empire for almost six years. He was deposed by Vizier Feroze JungIII who later blinded him along with his mother. He spent the remaining years of his life in prison and died in the year 1775 at the age of 50.
This silver rupee was issued by Ahmed Shah Bahadur from Dar-ul-Khair Ajmair mint. The obverse of the coin is inscribed with Persian legend “Ahmad Shah Bahadur Badshah Gazi Sikka Mubarak” while the reverse of the coins is inscribed with “Zarb Dar-ul-Khair Ajmer Julus Mainamat Manus Sanah Ahad”.
