Kutch Gold 100 Kori Sold For INR 1,10,000

This gold Kutch 100 Kori was issued by Pragmalji II of Princely State Kutch. Kutch was a Princely State during the British rule in India. It is situated in the Indian States of Gujarat, surrounded by a Gulf of Kutch in the south and the Arabian Sea in the west. The rulers of Kutch were Jareja Rajputs, they came from Thatta in Sind and conquered Kutch during the 15th Century CE.This gold 100 Kori which weighs around 18.6g was sold for INR 1,10,000 at Todywalla Auction held in Mumbai on 5th August 2018. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with ‘crescent’ between katar and Trident with ‘Morkori 100 Soni Jabarak’ with Vikram Samvat date 1923 within the circle and the legend ‘Maharaja Dhiraj Mirza Maharaj Shree Pragmalji Bahadur’ written in the margin. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Mallika Muazzima Queen Victoria, Zarb Bhuj Nagar and date 1866’.
