Bahrain Post released new commemorative postage stamps to celebrate the largest light oil reservoir named Khaleej Al Bahrain Oil Reservoir. This reservoir was discovered during the reign of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It is the largest oil field to be discovered in the history of Bahrain. The discovery was possible only because of the support and encouragement from the King to fasten gas exploration.
Three stamps, a souvenir card and an envelope carrying the designs were released by the postal department. Experts believe that the new discovery and oil production would improve Bahrain’s economy. It will also allow the nation to take up several independent and sustainable development projects.
