New Russian Banknote Design Strangely Identical to Igor Akinfeev’s Save
2018-07-27 Fri
Russia had released commemorative 100 ruble banknote to celebrate the Football World Cup. The note featured Russia's legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin. The bizarre and shocking fact is that the picture on the note looks exactly similar to the amazing save by Igor Akinfeev, which helped Russia gain victory over Spain during Penalty Shootout in Round of 16.It’s astonishing how the match-winning World Cup save was predicted so accurately. Like the image on the banknote, Akinfeev dived to his right but saved the goal with his left foot. This amazing save was the reason behind Russia’s victory over Spain. The Bank of Russia also tweeted "predictions have always been our strong point". One of the tweets criticised the government saying “As with all Russian sporting victories, the internet invariably hints money was somehow involved.”
