This gold Ashrafi which was issued by Mir Usman Ali Khan of Princely State Hyderabad is listed for INR 1,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery which will be held on 11th August 2018.Hyderabad was a Princely State located in the South-central region of India. It was ruled by Nizam of Hyderabad from 1724 till 1948. The region had also become the part of Mughal Empire in 1680.
This gold Ashrafi weighs around 11.14g. It was issued during the Hijri Year 1360. The obverse of the coin is inscribed with the image of ‘Charminar’ with a short initial ‘Ain’ and Hijri Date 1360 and the regnal year '31'. The reverse of the coin depicts name, the title of the king.
