Gold Ashrafi (Mohur) of Nasir-ud-Daula of Hyderabad

Nasir-ud-Daula was Nizam of Hyderabad; He had ruled Hyderabad from 1829 to 1857 CE. He was the eldest son of Asaf Jah III.Hyderabad was a Princely State during British rule in India. It was founded by Mir Qamar-ud-din Khan, a governor of Deccan under the Mughal Empire from 1713 till 1721 CE. In the year 1724, he became free from Mughal administration and founded Asaf Jahi dynasty. He took the title Asaf Jah and his other title Nizam-ul-Mulk became the title of his position Nizam of Hyderabad.

The obverse of this coin is inscribed with name and title of Bahadur Shah II with Hijri Year 1264. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with ‘Julus Formula’ with the mint name ‘Farkhanda Bunyad Hyderabad’ and regnal year 9.
