World Paper Money segment at the Lyn Knight Auctions sale was organised on 7th June in Kansas City, Missouri along with the International Paper Money Show. Several international and professional collectors participated in the auction. Officials noticed active collector participation through all three channels - live, mail-bid, and the internet. Lots which were never offered before or were offered after a very long time fared well. Most of these lots were sold to collectors and not dealers.British Commonwealth notes from Jamaica, Bermuda, British Honduras, and British Guiana issued under King George VI were auctioned for a good price. A British Guiana $20 specimen note dated 1.1.1942, graded Extremely Fine condition, with an estimated value of $7,500 to $12,000, was sold for $27,600.
A 1939 undated Reserve Bank of India 1,000 rupees issued for Burma crossed their estimated values of $5,000-$10,000, even though they were graded very good to fine with holes, nicks, and tears. This note was sold for $38,400, making it the highest bid during the sale.
More than 12 notes were sold for five-figure prices. Three were Third Republic issues from the Banque de France. Other notes belonged to Panama, Russia, Canada, Egypt, Denmark, and Greenland.
