King of Asgard Odin on Australian Coin

Perth Mint’s new Norse Gods series launches its first coin featuring a charging Odin, the King of Asgard. The coin is struck in two ounces of 99.9% pure silver and in antique finish with a rimless attribute.The coin’s reverse depicts the Norse god Odin riding his horse Sleipnir, wielding his spear with wolves and ravens flanking him. Inscriptions include ODIN and the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, also with an antique finish. Inscribed around the effigy is ‘QUEEN ELIZABETH II’, ‘2 oz 999 SILVER’, 2016, TUVALU and 2 DOLLARS.
Subsequent releases will carry reverse designs depicting Thor and Loki.
