The Reverse of the coin shown the Persian month and mint name ‘ Mihr Ilahi 47 Zarb Sitpur’ with additional word ‘Darb’ inscribed on below the mint name.As per Abul Fazl’s record in the Ain-i Akbari, the term ‘Darb’ refers to the denomination of half Rupee. In the 47th year of his reign, Akbar is known to have issued a series of coins from Agra with the denominational terms included in the legend.
The design of this coin certainly attempts to follow the trend of the Agra issues, with its superb execution, elaborate borders and eight pointed star enclosing the reverse legend.
