Russia, the world’s largest nation, borders European and Asian countries as well as the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Its landscape ranges from tundra and forests to subtropical beaches. It’s famous for Moscow's Bolshoi and St. Petersburg's Mariinsky ballet companies. St. Petersburg, founded by Russian leader Peter the Great, has the baroque Winter Palace, now housing part of the State Hermitage Museum’s art collection.Russia has an upper-middle income mixed economy with enormous natural resources, particularly oil and natural gas. It has the 12th largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and the 6th largest by purchasing power parity (PPP).
The Russian ten-rubble note was introduced in the 1998 monetary reform but was discontinued in 2010 due to inflation. The most prominent colour is light-brown in the background. The note specifications are as follows:
Obverse: Dark brown and dark grey on multicolour underprint. The legend is printed in Russian script on top left corner with the coat of arms of Russian and denomination on left. Yenisei River is depicted in the centre-left with the steeple on right and watermark window on right side. The serial number is seen on the top right corner and centre-left with the denomination on both sides.
Reverse: The image of the hydroelectric dam is printed in the centre with the denomination on both sides. The denomination in words and number is seen in lower panel on left with date seen in the bottom right corner.
