U.N. Stamp with 1,969 Words Enters Guinness Book of World Records

The UN Postal Administration had released a 2-franc stamp in 2017 for use from Palais des Nations U.N. post office in Geneva, with a whopping 1,969 words! The release has set an official Guinness world record for the most words on a postage stamp.A souvenir sheet was released by UNPA on 27th October 2017 with this particular stamp along with two other stamps. The postal release commemorated the translation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights into 500 languages.
The preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is microprinted in a different language on each stamp. The preamble includes 1,969 words in French which is why the 2-franc stamp found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
$1.15 stamp depicts the preamble in English with 1,771 words while the 1.70 stamp features the preamble in German with 1,660 words. These stamps are for use from the U.N. post office headquarters in New York City and the Vienna International Center in Vienna, respectively.
