2018-05-10 Thu

Collector’s Choice World Paper Money Sale by Stack’s Bowers is offering many interesting banknotes from Belgium on 16th May. An A Block 50 Francs banknote issued in 1966 with Serial Number 1 in a PCGS AU holder, depicting vignettes of Baldwin I and Queen Fabiola, with minor discoloration on the holder, and a specimen version of this note, numbered Specimen 1 are being offered. Other highlights include a 20 Francs banknote graded EF, a 100 Francs banknote, both with serial number 3; and a 5 Francs note with Serial Number 5.

A 10,000 Francs banknote graded CAN 55 by PCGS is also offered. Other notes of this type are faded because of the paper and ink used to produce them. However, the offered note has striking colours. The authentic vignettes feature Poseidon holding his trident and Demeter. The note also depicts horses, maidens, and a statuesque lion. The centering of this note is brilliant and it features the 1938 date.
