Peacock on Two Anna Series

Peacock is a national bird of India. It is a large and majestic bird. It is a symbol of grace, joy, beauty, love, nobility, holiness, Guidance, and protection. ‘Peacock’ refers to male animals and ‘peahen’ to females; together, they’re called peafowl. There are three different species of peafowl: the Indian peafowl, green peafowl and Congo peafowl. The missing bird is an Indian peacock.According to the Hinduism, Peacock is associated with Lakshmi who is a deity representing benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and good luck.
Indian Government had issued two anna series with the image of Peacock. The obverse side of the coin is inscribed with the image of ‘Peacock, with the date 1949 written above and denomination ‘Two Anna’ written below. The reverse side of this coin depicts an image of Ashoka column within the circle with four stars in each corner.
