Indus Civilization is the earliest urban culture of the Indian subcontinent. One of the best artifacts from this period that we come across is ‘seals’. The seals are usually made from steatite, a form a talc which is distinctive in its kind and quality. The Harappan seals depict various animals like elephant, tiger, rhinoceros, antelope, etc and also composite creatures of human and animal.The given stamp depicts a beautiful Kalibangan seal. It was issued in 1961, having the face value of 90 Naya Paisa. So if you can’t get the Harappan seal this tiny piece of a stamp with a seal on it is a definitely a try.
