2016-02-24 Wed
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is issuing 100-Piso banknotes with stronger mauve or violet colour starting Monday, 1st February 2016 to make it easier to be distinguished from the 1000-Piso banknote, as per suggestions from the public. All the other features of the said banknote will remain the same. The current 100-Piso banknotes can still be used for daily transactions until supplies of the first version last. The old banknote series (New Design Series, NDS)[P193 - P197], launched in 1985, will no longer be acceptable and can only be exchanged for New Generation Currency (NGC) banknotes with authorized agent banks and the BSP until 31st December 2016.
